The corn on the cob, blueberries, and peaches are all outstanding in taste and quality! We also enjoy the Shepherd Beef Pies and Chicken Pot Pies, which are now family favorites. : ) The farmers and cooks are doing a fantastic job, and I want to thank each and every one at AHO for your team effort to produce high-quality, healthy food choices. Your dedication is much appreciated! Blessings, Charlotte and Ron, Bakersfield
I am moving to Colorado and thus cancelling my subscription. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful service you offer. It has simply meant the world to me, to have my box each delivery. I am moving to a rural area and look forward to resuming the gardening I enjoyed as a girl. – Stephanie Bureau
First I want to thank everyone involved in providing us with wonderful, fresh produce, meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and other foods, plus some great recipes, etc. But, I also want you to know how thankful we are to have been receiving a beautiful box every week these past 7 or 8 years (I can’t remember when we started, but it was just before your first “birthday.”I hope I can express my thoughts coherently, but to be honest, sometimes it feels like we’re getting the same old stuff and, while fresh and delicious, I sometimes think I’d rather go shopping and choose my own produce for the week. That is, until these past couple of months when I’ve had to. Because of family events (good ones–weddings, births, etc.) we’ve been away a lot and haven’t been able to pick up a box every week. I can’t begin to tell you how much we’ve missed our weekly box! There is nothing out there that compares in quality. Sure, sometimes the organic produce I find can be prettier, but you’ve spoiled us so much that nothing “out there” ever measures up in flavor/freshness to what we get in our weekly box. So, thank you all from the Anderson family. – Penny Anderson | Tujunga
The delicious peaches in my recent #15 Add-on box were awesome! I have made two large peach cobblers (very tasty) and have shared the extra peaches with family. I have ordered another #15 Add-on box (mixed stone fruit). The stone fruit has amazing FLAVOR and freshness! My husband and I are happy AHO customers and appreciate the blessing of having such healthy food choices on an ongoing basis. May we never take your organic farming efforts for granted!
I got some of your pluots in my Abundant Harvest box and just had to write and tell you that they were SPECTACULAR! Gorgeous dark color– sweet and juicy. Just wanted you to know that your hard work is appreciated!
I love the produce in my crate this week. I so often think about how much I love you guys and appreciate your hard work so we can EAT HEALTHY! as uncle Vern always reminds us. I savor his newsletters after I put away all my goodies from the crate. Thank you for your wonderful labor of love. I use every morsel from the roots to the leaves….
“The apriums I received in my small box this week are divine!! They are the perfect little snack, and the taste is out of this world. I had a smile on my face from ear to ear as I gulped down 5 before I even got home. Thank you Peterson Family for such a wonderful treat!”
“Normally I do most of my own work because I have a very difficult time with others meeting my expectations… Abundant Harvest is actually meeting and exceeding my expectations, and for me that is amazing. The Farmers, our Frazier Park host, the on-line ordering, we can call that the gamut.”
“We want to say thank you so much for making such wonderful food available for me and my family. I’m happy to say we are all now spoiled for life with the amazing taste of your sweet delicious veggies.”
“I so love that the AH farmers continually try new veggies, and as far as I’m concerned, cardoons were a home run. Thank you for including them, and I’d be glad to see them again.
Thank you, thanks to the farmers for the imagination and envelope stretching!”
“Hi Abundant Harvest! I am a former subscriber who had to cancel my service as I moved across the country. I just wanted to reach out to you and tell you how much I enjoyed our CSA.
The website is very user friendly; I love the updates you did not too long ago. I love the box system as it’s very sturdy and never had a problem even when I would ride my bike to and from the pick up location. The staff was always nice and friendly. I love the sense of community and the newsletters. The produce is some of the best I have ever tasted and I fear that perhaps abundant Harvest has spoiled me too much as I’m unable to find a CSA in my new area that can even offer a taste of what Abundant Harvest provided to me and my family.
It was important to me that I reach out to you because I know how hard you all work. I wanted to let you know it shows in everything you do. Thank you for everything!”
“I am in love with your fig! Obsessed may be better word. I love opening my fridge and seeing that little basket ready for me to snitch a quick one. Heaven…Thank you for the wonderful job you do!”
“Good afternoon! I wanted to let you know how much my husband and I enjoyed the grapes! They were absolutely perfect – sweet, firm and delicious. Thank you so much for delivering this yumminess all the way out to the Mojave desert. I really appreciate it.”
“Thank you all (AHO and farmers) for the butternut squash in Wednesday’s box– They are simply the cutest I have ever seen. Perfect timing for a change of pace and flavors.”
“This was our 3rd week and we LOVE it!! Just wanted to let you know The produce is delicious and we love that we’re eating so many fruits & veggies without even trying! “
“THANK YOU for all your hard work! We love our weekly vegetable box so much! We can hardly wait to open the brown paper and see what yummy fruits and vegetables it reveals. My husband and I grew up with big vegetable gardens in our backyards and seasonal homemade meals. After we got married our parents kept bringing us boxes filled with their latest harvest. Four years ago we moved from Germany to Pasadena into a small apartment (with no backyard or vegetable garden) leaving all our families behind. When we pick up our Saturday vegetable box, it feels like our families have just visited. Thanks for playing a big role in making us feel at home in California”
“I guess Vern wants to know how we are doing with eating the fresh foods. Well, this is coming from a sick person. I have been battling back from a lifetime of BAD EATING, I woke up 10 years ago from how the world is really ran and from that point on I have been detoxing my internal organs and trying to go Organic as much as possible. I found Abundant Harvest Organics 6 months ago and all I can say is, I AM noticing a difference in energy. I feel happy going to pick my food up, I feel happy putting the food in my truck and driving away. I FEEL HAPPY!”
“Today I received what I guess is my 5th or so delivery. I am THRILLED! I’ve tried other organic delivery services and yours is far and away superior. In the past I would get kiwis, bananas, etc., in my delivery which just wasn’t consistent with the spirit of what I wanted. The contents were good quality, but weren’t in keeping with my desire to support organic farmers. For me Abundant Harvest has hit the nail on the head. The quality, quantity and local delivery are terrific. I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s also very nice to have a local contact for those rare instances when an issue comes up.
Oh, and I have now purchased a juicer–I have a raw, healthy, tasty, and quick, breakfast every day. Just thought you might like to hear from a ‘newbie’ that you guys are doing a great job. I eagerly look forward to my next delivery.”
“Please tell your kiwi growers that they’ve made a convert out of me! I’ve never been a big fan of kiwis. I have usually encountered them in fruit salad that someone else has bought or made. I’ll eat them, but that’s about it. This morning, I peeled and ate one of the kiwis from my box. (I’d set two out to ripen.) It was so good, I ate the other one, too. Now it’s all I can do to wait until the other four ripen! You’ve created a kiwi piggy! Many thanks to these growers. Their efforts are appreciated!”
“Today, during our intermittent micro-burst rain showers in the San Fernando Valley, I picked up our basket from the Sherman Oaks location.I had a few errands to run and I was starving… and knowing there would be some fruit in the basket, I figured it would tide me over. I pulled back the brown paper and had a vision! Spinach! I love spinach.
Thus, as I ran around and did my errands, I ate all (not some) but all of the spinach in the basket. It was fabulous. I don’t know if it’s washed but any little spots that looked like dirt, I just rubbed off on my t-shirt (hey, it’s organic, right?) So, I get home and my husband unpacks our basket and says “they forgot to give us any spinach” and I told him it had already been consumed. (long pause….) “uh, really… when?”Anyway, so one more story to add to the thousands in the books. On Saturday, March 1st, during our big rainstorm, some strange woman in a big black sedan drove around Los Angeles eating (and loving) the World’s best raw spinach. You pack magic in our boxes. Thank you. Long may it live.”
“I just want to say how much I enjoy the combination of education & philosophy in your newsletters! I’m a dedicated minimalist – I try to let go of whatever I can to reduce unnecessary baggage – but I have kept some of said writings because they contained something(s) meaningful & memorable. Thank you!Not to mention that I’m a great fan (two years now) of the service itself. My diet has never been more (delightfully, unpredictably) healthy or diverse! I love you guys!”
“Thank you very much for your information on storage tips, ingredients, recipes, etc. I am a klutz at cooking, but you’ve brought joy into my cooking process. Both my husband and I appreciate the results.”
“Hi Uncle Vern, I’m not sure if it’s been six months since my last compliment. Oops. I just googled it and it quotes our esteemed Mr. Twain as saying he could last two months on a good compliment! So now I’m way overdue! I vote for the title of your (first or next? Not sure) book as Uncle Vern’s Words of Wisdom & Recipes for Hope! Anyway, it’s time to say thanks again for educating and inspiring me and us in the fascinating variety of ways you do, in an entertaining and upbeat fashion! And for the palate-pleasing, life-enhancing fare from the farms. Wishing you a great holiday season. Be well.”
“The red delicious apples I got in this week’s produce box (late September 2016) are THE BEST! I usually don’t even bother buying or eating them from the store, because they have consistently become super flavorless, mealy and un-appetizing. Today I was just reminded of what an apple is supposed to taste like and why eating them could actually be enjoyable again. These actually deserve the “delicious” in their name! Thank you AHO organic apple farmers.”
