Garlic is related to onions, leeks, and chives.
Garlic enhances so many types of dishes. Add it to soups and stews early in cooking time and then again just before serving. Garlic can be roasted in it’s papery casing, or peeled and minced for salad dressings, pestos, dips, butters, marinades, and more.
Mature, cured garlic can be stored for several months in a cool, dark, dry place. Garlic can be peeled, minced, coated in olive oil and frozen for long term storage.
