Pink Lady apples are a newer variety of apple, developed in the 1970s in Australia as a cross between a Lady Williams and a Golden Delicious apple.
Pink Lady apples are firm, crisp, and juicy and have a perfect two-toned sweet to tart taste. They are good fresh eating apples and are also resistant to browning when cut so they make good additions to salads. Pink ladies are good for sauce and will hold their shape with cut and added baked goods like coffee cake and muffins.
Apples are traditionally a storage crop. These apples will keep at room temperature for a few weeks, or in the fridge for up to six to eight weeks.
